Tuesday Evening Kicker: 2021 Week 9 Recap November 9, 2021 In Week 9’s action, the new-look Ewoks scored a big victory over Nagasaki, the Blitz handed the Squirrels their second loss of the season, the Grainers and Scorpions won big games to jostle for position in the Northwest Conference, the retooled Crabs scored big in a victory over Jamaica, and the Renegades outlasted the Pharaohs. QB Lamar Jackson scored 39.82 points to lead Ecuador. Ewoks spear, bring down the Kamikazes Ecuador Ewoks 197.42, Nagasaki Kamikazes 135.52 — Led by new quarterback Lamar Jackson’s 39.82 points, the Ewoks scored a big upset over the Kamikazes. Rookie DeVonta Smith tallied 26.6 points, receiver Tim Patrick put up 21.75, the Chicago Bears racked up 20.9, and Devontae Booker added 19.4. For the shorthanded Kamikazes, Travis Kelce led the way in the loss with 21.3 points. Backup quarterback Derek Carr tallied 15.27, Diontae Johnson added 15.1 and Javonte Williams finished with 14.5. Next Week: Ecuador will look to keep things rolling against Russia. Nagasaki takes on the floundering Pharaohs. RB Jonathan Taylor scored 37.8 points to lead Bangkok to victory. Blitz bombard the Squirrels Bangkok Blitz 174.13, Switzerland Squirrels 111.43 — Running back Jonathan Taylor got the Blitz off to a good start with 37.8 points as they cruised to a victory from there. The Cleveland Browns scored 24.55 points, Darren Waller notched 21.45, Dak Prescott pitched in 22.48, and newcomer Najee Harris tallied 21.2. For the undermanned Squirrels, Cooper Kupp (26.75) and Cordarrelle Patterson (25.4) were the big leaders in the loss. The running back duo of Darrell Henderson (11) and Aaron Jones (7.7) flopped. And backup quarterback Trevor Lawrence had just 8.68 points. Next Week: Bangkok will face Wake Island. Switzerland has a tough battle with San Juan. RB Joe Mixon tallied 30.6 points to help lead Ukraine to victory. Grainers grind the Jerky Ukraine Grainers 170.85, Turkey Jerky 145.6 — The ailing Grainers have been working their way back to health and welcomed back Christian McCaffrey to the lineup. He tallied just 17.4 points in the Grainers’ win. Joe Mixon scored 30.6 points to lead the way. Marquise Brown added 25.6, Jalen Hurts pitched in 20.35, and the New England Patriots finished with 19.9. The Jerky got 44.5 points from James Conner in the loss. Teddy Bridgewater added 25.55 points and Kenyan Drake notched 16.8. Davante Adams had just 15.7 points. Next Week: Ukraine will look to keep pace in the Northwest Conference against Jamaica. Jerks grumpy after loss to the rebuilding Crabs Christmas Island Crabs 166.42, Jamaica Jerks 125.1 — Don’t look now, but the Crabs might be working their way down from Pick 1 to 2 following the addition of Justin Herbert (38.27) and Tee Higgins (17.8), to go with George Kittle (23.6) and Michael Pittman (21.4). The goal has been to rebuild with better pieces, and if that means moving down a draft slot, I’m sure they’re fine with that. The Jerks got 28.15 points from Keenan Allen and 21.65 from Hunter Renfrow in the loss. Dalvin Cook added 18.6. Next Week: Christmas Island will keep up the rebuilding process against Turkey. Jamaica tries to rebound against Ukraine. RB Nick Chubb tallied 33.1 points to help San Juan to victory. Scorpions scorch the Wookiees San Juan Scorpions 171.25, Wake Island Wookiees 121.65 — San Juan keeps churning out victories and they are finding new ways to do it. The normally explosive Josh Allen had a quiet week with just 15.55 points. The Scorpions got big efforts from Nick Chubb (33.1), Alvin Kamara (23), newcomer Justin Jefferson (19.95), and Stefon Diggs (19). The banged-up Wookiees got 22.6 points from Robert Woods, 19.25 from Matthew Stafford, 18.7 from Myles Gaskin, and 15.55 from Cole Beasley. Next Week: San Juan looks to widen their lead for the No. 1 seed against Switzerland. Wake Island tries to wake up against Bangkok. RB Melvin Gordon scored 21.7 points in Russia’s win. Renegades run past the Pharaohs Russia Renegades 138.42, Egypt Pharaohs 86.18 — The depleted Renegades knocked off an even more depleted Pharaohs team with help from some new faces. Melvin Gordon led the way with 21.7 points. Ryan Tannehill (18.22), Josh Jacobs (16.1), the Indianapolis Colts (14.15) and Evan Engram (14.05) all pitched in. For the Pharaohs, Patrick Mahomes (14.73), Devin Singletary (14.1), Mark Ingram (13.2), Jamison Crowder (12.05), and Sony Michel (12) all pitched in to the loss.
