Ranking the all-time drafted teams

Ranking the all-time drafted teams

The following feature was written by Nagasaki.

While not every franchise builds through the draft as their primary strategy, we can take a look and rank the 12 organizations on how strong a lineup they could have had with the selections they’ve made over the past 5 years.   Players are sometimes drafted by one team but traded away for additional picks, which may result in both players being listed when otherwise never actually being able to play together.  Nonetheless, here are rankings and ‘fantasy’ fantasy lineups from 12 to 1.

12.  Wake Island Wookiees

Making 6 selections in the past 5 years, and the only franchise to draft a Kicker, but not quite enough to fill a lineup, the Wookiees kick off the list.

QB – Daniel Jones
RB – Saquon Barkley
WR – N/A
WR N/A
FLEX – RB Jordan Howard
FLEX – RB D’Onta Foreman
FLEX N/A
TE N/A

Upcoming Picks: 13 / 37

11. Turkey Jerky

With 8 selections, the Jerky have varied the positions and found talent at 3 of them.   Nonetheless, Turkey comes in at number 11 on the dynasty draft list.

WR – DJ Chark
WR – Josh Doctson
FLEX – RB Jamaal Williams

9.  Jamaica Jerks

For the 9 spot, it’s close between Jamaica and Egypt but the Pharaohs show multiple QB finds. 10 picks for the Jerks, 4 of which were RBs but haven’t had great luck in one sticking.  Jamaica has 6 picks in the upcoming draft to beef up the franchise’s history.

Upcoming Picks: 9 / 15 / 17 / 28 / 30 / 41

8.  Egypt Pharaohs

Throwing darts at the RB board, the Pharaohs haven’t had much success in finding a Running Back.  Trading plenty of picks away throughout the years, Egypt has acquired WRs, not searching for them in the draft.  11 picks, the most success has come from the QB position.

QB – Patrick Mahomes
RB – Damien Harris

WR – Riley Ridley
FLEX – RB Jaylen Samuels
FLEX – RB Royce Freeman

Reserves:

QB Drew Lock

Upcoming Picks: 6 / 27 / 32 / 39

6.  Christmas Island Crabs

13 picks, 2 owners (former Champions Vietnam Velociraptors) together, have found some really good success in the draft.   Perhaps the current owner talked to the former owner about using that success path as they recently cashed in most of their roster for future picks, now holding 22 picks over the next 3 drafts.

QB N/A
RB – Miles Sanders
WR – AJ Brown
WR – Michael Thomas
FLEX – RB D’Andre Swift
FLEX – RB Kenyan Drake

5.  Ukraine Grainers

Claiming 2 solid RBs over the years the Grainers have spent 11 of 15 picks searching for franchise WRs.   Recently parting ways with Auction-won franchise WR, Tyreek Hill, Ukraine appears set to continue the search.   First, by trading for young hopefuls, but further seeking WR in the upcoming draft.

RB Bryce Love

Upcoming Picks: 4 / 14 / 35 / 40

3.  Nagasaki Kamikazes

With 49 picks between the next 2 teams, there have been plenty of hits and misses.

Just edging out Russia (23) for pick total, Nagasaki has had 26 picks with mixed results, much like the Renegades.  Going WR heavy, as the majority of the selections were 2nd and 3rd round picks, just missing the 2 rank, the Kamikazes have a chance to catch if they can hit on this year’s draft class, or see some breakouts from last year’s class.

QB – Kyler Murray
RB – Joe Mixon

WR Zay Jones
WR Antonio Calloway
WR Justin Wataon
WR Tajae Sharpe

Upcoming Picks: 2 / 3 / 11 / 26 / 36 / 47

2.  Russia Renegades

Two organizations who are not timid to move a veteran for some extra selections, Russia, like Nagasaki, have had 23 of those 49 combined picks.  The Renegades have balanced the selections amongst the positions, however, have also been WR heavy.  Russia edges out Nagasaki for the 2 spot, with a few additional hits than misses, comparatively.

QB – Justin Herbert
RB – Josh Jacobs
WR – Justin Jefferson
WR – CeeDee Lamb
FLEX – RB Kareem Hunt

Upcoming Picks: 5 / 10 / 16 / 19 / 25 / 46

And the number 1 drafted team,

1. San Juan Scorpions

With 17 picks over the years, the Scorpions have not been active in moving up or down the draft board, nor have they acquired many additional picks; however, San Juan has maximized on most of the selections, despite often selecting at the end of each round.
