Russia’s Mock Draft 1.0 May 3, 2021 RB Najee Harris has the best combination of talent and landing spot and should be the No. 1 player off the board. The following mock draft was conducted and written by Russia. Round 1 1.01 Switzerland Squirrels — RB1 Najee Harris, PITThe Squirrels have their pick of the litter and can add some depth to their running back room. Although Etienne is tempting, Harris should provide the greatest ROI by virtue of his landing spot and quickest path to starts and touches. Team Needs: QB, RB, FLEX 1.02 Nagasaki Kamikazes — RB2 Travis Etienne, JAXNagasaki gets an explosive playmaker in Etienne. They can pair him up with D’Andre Swift, whom they acquired from Christmas Island this offseason. Together, the pair can wreck defenses for years to come. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB 1.03 Nagasaki Kamikazes — WR1 Ja’Marr Chase, CINWith a pair of expensive veterans in their lineup, the Kamikazes create some financial balance by selecting Chase, the top receiver in this draft class who can step in on Day 1 and begin contributing immediately. He should be a strong player for years to come. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB 1.04 Bangkok Blitz — TE1 Kyle Pitts, ATLBangkok is fairly set at most positions but makes a luxury pick with the freakish athlete that Pitts is. Pitts is a tight end that can break the mold and step in from the first week on and contribute immediately. Team Needs: WR 1.05 Russia Renegades — RB3 Javonte Williams, DENWilliams will have to share the backfield in his rookie season, something he was accustomed to doing in college. The Renegades won’t need him to be a contributor right away, anyway. Team Needs: RB, TE 1.06 Ecuador Ewoks — WR2 DeVonta Smith, PHIThe Ewoks have hit the reset button this offseason with so many free agents walking away. They could use a number of different positions but here they choose the former Heisman Trophy winner who should be able to contribute immediately and be a staple of their offense moving forward. Team Needs: WR, RB, FLEX 1.07 Ukraine Grainers — WR3 Jaylen Waddle, MIAUkraine likes to collect athletes and that’s exactly what Waddle is. Waddle reunites with his college quarterback and that ought to make the transition to the pros a little easier. With the departure of Tyreek Hill, the Grainers need another dynamic weapon. Team Needs: FLEX 1.08 Ukraine Grainers — WR4 Elijah Moore, NYJMoore might be undersized, but he’s incredibly productive and ought to be utilized right away. Not that the Grainers need an instant contributor given the state of their roster. But he offers good depth and ought to keep their Corral stocked and loaded. Team Needs: FLEX 1.09 Jamaica Jerks — WR5 Rashod Bateman, BALThe Jerks add a little wide receiver depth with the selection of Bateman, one of the most talented wide receivers in this year’s draft class. His landing spot was not ideal, but he’s too talented not to corral enough targets and catches at some point in his career. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 1.10 Russia Renegades — RB4 Michael Carter, NYJThe Renegades add another running back to the depth chart with the selection of Carter. Carter is a diminutive back who will not likely be able to shoulder a load, but will see the field a lot and offer decent FLEX value. Team Needs: RB, TE 1.11 Nagasaki Kamikazes — WR6 Terrace Marshall Jr., CARNagasaki looks to add more depth with the addition of Marshall. He lands in an offense where he’ll have to compete for touches as a rookie, but it’s an offense in which he is reunited with his former OC from college. He could be a starter there by Year 2. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB 1.12 San Juan Scorpions — RB5 Trey Sermon, SFThe Scorpions continue their tradition of finding running backs through the draft. The San Francisco backfield is a bit crowded at the moment, but Sermon ought to make a push for meaningful playing time and could seize the starting job at some point. Team Needs: FLEX Round 2 2.01 Wake Island Wookiees — QB1 Trevor Lawrence, JAXThe Wookiees have a number of holes they need to fill, but they secure their signal-caller with the first pick in Round 2. Lawrence is about as steady a prospect that has come out of college in a while and could lead the Wookiees as they rebuild toward better days. Team Needs: QB, WR, FLEX 2.02 Bangkok Blitz — WR7 Kadarius Toney, NYGThe Blitz need to add depth and young playmakers to their receiving corps, and they take a swing at the versatile Toney. Still a raw prospect, Toney will at least get schemed touches in Year 1 and has the ability to bust a play open any time he touches the ball. Team Needs: WR 2.03 Jamaica Jerks — WR8 D’Wayne Eskridge, SEAThe Seahawks made just three picks in this year’s draft and one of them was Eskridge, which has to count for something. Landing in a good offense with a great quarterback gives Eskridge FLEX appeal and the Jerks snatch him up here. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 2.04 Russia Renegades — QB2 Justin Fields, CHIThe Renegades don’t have a great need for a quarterback, but make a luxury pick here. Fields is one of the most talented quarterbacks of the draft class with the ability to pick up points with his legs. He’ll just have to sit and wait his turn. Team Needs: RB, TE 2.05 Jamaica Jerks — QB3 Trey Lance, SFThe Jerks follow suit with the selection of a quarterback and go with the uber versatile Lance. Lance comes with big question marks due to his lack of pass attempts in college. But he lands with a great offense and has a chance to do big things. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 2.06 Ukraine Grainers — WR9 Rondale Moore, ARIThe Grainers take another swing at a speedy receiver with the selection of Moore. Moore landed in a loaded offense and will have to compete for touches, but between his blazing speed and the draft capital spent on him, they’ll find ways to get him involved. Team Needs: FLEX 2.07 Russia Renegades — WR10 Dyami Brown, WASThe Renegades have a fairly deep wide receiver corps, so they look for value here instead of need. Brown is not particularly explosive, but is savvy and will carve out a role at some point. Team Needs: RB, TE 2.08 Egypt Pharaohs — TE2 Pat Freiermuth, PITThe Pharaohs are in need of help at the tight end position and they snag “Baby Gronk” in the middle of Round 2. Like most rookie tight ends, he’ll have to earn his stripes, but he landed with a great offense and could blossom by Year 2. Team Needs: TE, FLEX 2.09 Egypt Pharaohs — RB6 Kenneth Gainwell, PHIThe Pharaohs use their second of back-to-back picks on a running back. Gainwell is a versatile, dual-threat player who will come in and likely be the primary backup. He’s not likely to ever be a full-time player, but does offer FLEX appeal. Team Needs: TE, FLEX 2.10 San Juan Scorpions — QB4 Zach Wilson, NYJThe Scorpions have Josh Allen firmly entrenched as their starter. But with Allen entering the final year of his rookie deal and Dwayne Haskins and Josh Rosen languishing in their Rookie Corral, the Scorpions could choose to find a new developmental quarterback with Wilson here. Team Needs: FLEX 2.11 Christmas Island Crabs — WR11 Josh Palmer, LACThe Crabs are going through a rebuilding process, so whomever they do choose in this year’s draft isn’t likely to be a major difference-maker anyway. Palmer lands in a good offense with a talented quarterback and could offer value in due time. Team Needs: RB, TE, WR 2.12 Christmas Island Crabs — WR12 Amari Rodgers, GBWith the second of their back-to-back picks, the Crabs take another shot on a wide receiver in Rodgers. Depending on who his quarterback is, Rodgers’ draft stock could rise or fall as the offseason progresses. With the right QB, Rodgers offers good value here. Team Needs: RB, TE, WR Round 3 3.01 Russia Renegades — QB5 Mac Jones, NEIn their tradition of selecting third-round quarterbacks, the Renegades take another swing on one here. Jones will likely sit and watch as a rookie but could offer value by Year 2. Team Needs: RB, TE 3.02 Nagasaki Kamikazes — WR13 Nico Collins, HOUThe Kamikazes make a luxury pick here with the big-bodied Collins. If Deshaun Watson stays and plays in Houston, Collins will be afforded the opportunity to make big plays. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB 3.03 Ecuador Ewoks — WR14 Amon-Ra St. Brown, DETThe Ewoks take another swing at a wide receiver on St. Brown, who didn’t exactly land in a great offense but has the opportunity to step in and earn plays right away. Team Needs: WR, RB, FLEX 3.04 Jamaica Jerks — RB7 Rhamondre Stevenson, NEStevenson landed in quite the quagmire in New England. He’s not going to be an every-down player but could turn into a touchdown vulture. Jamaica snags him as an occasional FLEX option. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 3.05 Turkey Jerky — WR15 Tutu Atwell, LARAtwell is awfully undersized but was quite productive in college and lands in a dynamic offense. The Jerky look to add him to their offensive gadgetry. Team Needs: QB, TE, RB, WR 3.06 Jamaica Jerks — WR16 Tylan Wallace, BALWallace is a tough receiver who is good at picking up yards after the catch. But he landed in an awful spot. The Jerks take a chance on his talent here. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 3.07 Ukraine Grainers — RB8 Chuba Hubbard, CARHubbard packs an explosive burst in his runs, but he couldn’t have landed in a worse spot if he wants to compete for playing time. Hubbard offers little value to most other MFFL teams, save for the one who has Christian McCaffrey. Team Needs: FLEX 3.08 Ecuador Ewoks — QB6 Kellen Mond, MINThe Ewoks could use depth at the quarterback position and they take a shot at the versatile Mond. He’ll have to sit and watch as a rookie, but if he shows promise he could earn his way into playing time by Year 2. Team Needs: WR, RB, FLEX 3.09 Egypt Pharaohs — WR17 Anthony Schwartz, CLEThe Pharaohs take a stab at one of the fastest players in the NFL. The Browns have a lot of mouths to feed, but Schwartz has home run ability and will get a number of schemed touches. Team Needs: TE, FLEX 3.10 Christmas Island Crabs — RB9 Javian Hawkins, ATLHawkins was an undrafted free agent and lands on a roster without a great running back. We’ve seen UDFA success stories before, and perhaps Hawkins is the latest to step up. Team Needs: RB, TE, WR 3.11 Bangkok Blitz — WR18 Dez Fitzpatrick, TENThe Titans lost some receivers this offseason and took a shot on the Louisville receiver in the fourth round. The Blitz take a stab at him late in the third round. Team Needs: WR 3.12 Nagasaki Kamikazes — WR19 Demetric Felton, CLEFelton is too talented and versatile a threat to go undrafted, despite his lack of a defined position. In today’s era of football, teams can find creative ways to use ‘tweeners and the Kamikazes take a shot on that talent to close out Round 3. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB Round 4 4.01 Wake Island Wookiees — RB10 Khalil Herbert, CHIWith the Wookiees’ second pick of the draft, they add some depth to the running back position with Herbert. Herbert will begin buried on the depth chart but might work his way up as his career moves on. Team Needs: QB, WR, FLEX 4.02 Switzerland Squirrels — WR20 Marquez Stevenson, BUFStevenson is a burner who lands in a good offense. He’ll likely be a kick returner first and foremost but if he hones his receiving skills he could offer value later in his career. Team Needs: QB, RB, FLEX 4.03 Ecuador Ewoks — WR21 Dazz Newsome, CHIThe Ewoks take another shot at a wide receiver with the selection of Newsome. Without the right quarterback, Newsome will not get enough targets. But if he works his way into the No. 3 role and sees an uptick in quarterback play, he could eventually offer value. Team Needs: WR, RB, FLEX 4.04 Bangkok Blitz — RB11 Jermar Jefferson, DETJefferson begins his career as a backup and doesn’t appear to have a high ceiling, but he could become a touchdown-dependent option. The Blitz take a flyer here. Team Needs: WR 4.05 Jamaica Jerks — TE3 Brevin Jordan, HOUWith Rob Gronkowski getting long in the tooth, the Jerks take a chance on Jordan, who is strictly a pass-catching tight end and could turn out decent production with the right quarterback throwing to him. Team Needs: RB, FLEX 4.06 Turkey Jerky — RB12 Larry Rountree III, LACRountree was a productive back in college but now lands in a deep backfield and will struggle to get his footing. The Jerky take a chance that he’ll beat out his competition and become a primary backup. Team Needs: QB, TE, RB, WR 4.07 Egypt Pharaohs — RB13 Chris Evans, CINWith Joe Mixon atop their depth chart, the Pharaohs take a chance on Evans as a handcuff. Evans hasn’t played much football the past two seasons, but was very productive before that. Team Needs: TE, FLEX 4.08 Ukraine Grainers — WR22 Shi Smith, CARSmith is a smaller target, but shows good hands and can make defenders miss. He lands in a crowded receiver room, but the Grainers take a late-round flyer on him. Team Needs: FLEX 4.09 Christmas Island Crabs — WR23 Seth Williams, DENThe Crabs take a chance on a big receiver who will need time to develop and possibly work his way out of a deep depth chart. Team Needs: RB, TE, WR 4.10 Russia Renegades — TE4 Hunter Long, MIAThe Renegades address the tight end position with the selection of Long, who will begin his career as a backup to Mike Gesicki. Team Needs: RB, TE 4.11 Nagasaki Kamikazes — WR24 Jaelon Darden, TBDarden is an incredibly talented and explosive wide receiver who landed in an awful situation — on a good team but surrounded by too many other playmakers. The Kamikazes take a chance on that athleticism with the second-to-last pick in the draft. Team Needs: RB, FLEX, QB 4.12 San Juan Scorpions — WR25 Ihmir Smith-Marsette, MINThe Scorpions make the speedy ISM this year’s “Mr. Irrelevant.” He’s a deep-ball threat who could complement two very productive receivers in the Vikings offense. Team Needs: FLEX
