Tuesday Evening Kicker: 2020 Week 7 Recap October 27, 2020 It was a lopsided Week 7 in the MFFL as four of the six games were decided by at least 50 points — okay, actually one of those was 49.75, but close enough. The Kamikazes pounded the Ewoks by 125 points — which was more than the Ewoks scored. And in the two closer games, Russia slipped past the Pharaohs and Turkey upended the Squirrels. WR Tyler Lockett exploded for 63.5 points in Christmas Island’s big win. Lockett up: Crabs roll past Scorpions behind receiver’s 63.5 points Christmas Island Crabs 200.58, San Juan Scorpions 150.83 — Christmas Island overcame a slow first half and exploded in the third quarter to defeat San Juan. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett (63.5) and quarterback Russell Wilson (33.78) combined for nearly half the team’s points. Receivers D.J. Moore (27.55) and Deebo Samuel (16.05), and running back D’Andre Swift (16.6) were also key contributors. San Juan received strong performances from receiver Terry McLaurin (25.75) and running back Alvin Kamara (25.6). Quarterback Josh Allen tallied 23.03 points as well. Next Week: Christmas Island takes on Ecuador. San Juan faces Wake Island. QB Justin Herbert scored 41.72 points in the Renegades’ victory. Runnin’ with the Rookie: Russia rolls with Herbert at the helm Russia Renegades 154.27, Egypt Pharaohs 122.77 — Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert scored 41.72 points in relief duty for Lamar Jackson as the Renegades slipped past the Pharaohs. Receiver Calvin Ridley scored 23.65 points and running back Kareem Hunt finished with 22.8 in an uneven scoring effort for the Renegades. The Pharaohs were hampered by injuries to receivers Odell Beckham and Jamison Crowder. The Chiefs defense led the way for them with 30.25 points. Running back David Johnson scored 18.2 points and receiver Robby Anderson finished with 17.4. Next Week: Russia squares off against Bangkok. Egypt will do battle with Switzerland. WR Chris Godwin totaled 29.55 points to lead Ukraine to victory. Grainers bury the Blitz Ukraine Grainers 189.6, Bangkok Blitz 131.38 — Ukraine received a balanced effort from its lineup in a sound victory over the Blitz. Wide receivers Chris Godwin (29.55) and Tyreek Hill (21.5), running back Chase Edmonds (22.5), tight end Darren Waller (21.75) and quarterback Deshaun Watson (28.75) all tallied over 20 points for the Grainers in the win. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers led the Blitz with 27.18 points. Wide receiver Christian Kirk tallied 24.2 points. Running backs Antonio Gibson (22.8) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (14.9) rounded out the effort for Bangkok. Next Week: Ukraine takes on Turkey. Bangkok faces Russia. RB Todd Gurley racked up 26.8 points in Wake Island’s win. Wookiees wallop the Jerks Wake Island Wookiees 175.82, Jamaica Jerks 124.82 — Wake Island received 20-plus point efforts from six of its starters in a thorough thrashing of the Jerks. Running backs Todd Gurley (26.8) and Jamaal Williams (25.2) led the way in the victory. Receivers Julio Jones (22.45) and Randall Cobb (21.5) had big games, too. Quarterback Matt Ryan (21.02) and T.J. Hockenson (20.4) were big scorers as well. Conversely, six of Jamaica’s starters failed to top double digits. Receiver Keenan Allen led the way with 29.25 points. Fellow wideout Kenny Golladay scored 21.65 points. Tight end Rob Gronkowski finished with 20.7. Next Week: Wake Island will tangle with San Juan. Jamaica battles Nagasaki. WR Davante Adams scored 53.6 points in Nagasaki’s big win. Kamikazes fly circles around Ewoks Nagasaki Kamikazes 232.95, Ecuador Ewoks 107.63 — Nagasaki lapped Ecuador, more than doubling their point total, in a resounding victory. Receivers Davante Adams (53.6), A.J. Brown (31.8) and DeAndre Hopkins (28.8) led the charge for the Kamikazes. Quarterback Kyler Murray was spectacular as usual, totaling 44 points. Running back James Robinson racked up 36.1 points. For the Ewoks, quarterback Ryan Tannehill (18.73) and receivers Brandin Cooks (17.25) and Travis Fulgham (16.55) were among the top contributors. The Bears defense led the way with 22.3 points. Next Week: Nagasaki will face Jamaica. Ecuador will do battle with Christmas Island. WR Tyler Boyd picked up 34.13 points in Turkey’s victory. Jerky gallop past the Squirrels Turkey Jerky 161.88, Switzerland Squirrels 141.12 — Turkey picked up a big victory and moved back into a first place tie in the South Division with a big victory over Switzerland. Receivers Tyler Boyd (34.13) and Amari Cooper (19.45) led the way for the Jerky. Quarterback Jared Goff added 19.95 points and running back Derrick Henry finished with 19.2. For the Squirrels, wide receiver Cole Beasley led the team with 27.7 points. Running back Giovani Bernard finished with 23.2 points and quarterback Gardner Minshew tallied 20.17.
