Tuesday Evening Kicker: 2020 Week 3 Recap

In Week 3’s action, we have a walk-off 5-yard carry for the win! The Pharaohs took down the previously-unbeaten Grainers. A pair of West Division teams suffered 69-plus-point shellackings, while the Renegades and Kamikazes picked up respective division victories.

RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored 22.4 points and the walk-off 5-yard run for the win.

CEH slips past defense; Blitz eclipse Jerky

Bangkok Blitz 185.48, Turkey Jerky 185.2 — On the final carry of the game, Clyde Edwards-Helaire scampered off right guard for five yards … and the victory! A late run by the first overall pick in the 2020 MFFL Draft allowed the Blitz to pull off a 0.28-point victory over division rival Turkey. Quarterback Dak Prescott scored 31.78 points to lead the Blitz. Receiver Michael Gallup added 30.05 and Edwards-Helaire netted 22.4. Running back Derrick Henry scored 32.2 points in the loss. Quarterback Jared Goff tallied 30.25 points, receiver Tyler Boyd added 29.75 and Amari Cooper finished with 22.6. Next Week: Bangkok will try to create separation in the South Division when they face rival Egypt. Turkey looks to rebound when they face Russia.

Grain and bear it: Pharaohs wrap up wounded Ukraine

Egypt Pharaohs 148.53, Ukraine Grainers 140.55 — The Grainers, missing Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle, ran into a tough Pharaohs defense as Egypt picked up the big victory. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a huge game with 41.98 points. Tight end Eric Ebron picked up 19.45 points. Receivers Odell Beckham (13.4) and Robby Anderson (13.5), and running back Adrian Peterson (13.9) all contributed as well. Tyreek Hill led the Grainers in the loss with 25.1 points. Chris Godwin scored 20.4 points while suffering an injury. Todd Gurley added 18 points. Next Week: Egypt will look to go on a run when they face South foe Bangkok. Ukraine will try to maintain grasp of the North when they take on Switzerland.

Red-hot Scorpions overrun the Ewoks

San Juan Scorpions 236.92, Ecuador Ewoks 150.3 — The hottest team in the MFFL continued to roll in pounding West Division rival Ecuador. League-leader Alvin Kamara scored 45.9 points in the victory. Quarterback Josh Allen continued to tear it up, racking up 31.97 points. Running back Nick Chubb added 27.8 and receiver Robert Woods finished with 25. The Ewoks got nice performances from several players. The team welcomed back Ezekiel Elliott, who scored 20.6 points in the loss. Tight end Jimmy Graham finished with 29 points. Receiver Keenan Allen led the team with 37.95 points. Next Week: San Juan and Nagasaki will clash in a meeting between the league’s points leaders. Ecuador will look to take control of second place in the West when they take on Jamaica.

Christmas Island Crabs 216.45, Jamaica Jerks 146.65 — The defending champions finally got into the win column with a thorough thrashing of Jamaica. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett had a huge game with 43.25 points. Quarterback Russell Wilson continued his hot streak with 37.65 points. Running back Austin Ekeler dominated with 33.7 points. Running backs Jerick McKinnon (19.5) and Miles Sanders (18.3) had big games as well. Running back Dalvin Cook scored 29.3 points for the Jerks in the loss. Receiver Kenny Golladay saw his first action of the season and tallied 21.45. Quarterback Cam Newton had a rough outing, but contributed 16.15. Next Week: Christmas Island will look to even its record in an Island battle with Wake Island. Jamaica faces Ecuador in a West Division battle.

Aw, nuts! Squirrels fall to North rival Russia

Russia Renegades 175.23, Switzerland Squirrels 133.17 — Russia picked up its first victory of the year in division battle with Switzerland. The Indianapolis Colts defense had a huge game with 31.05 points. Receivers Allen Robinson (34.05) and Calvin Ridley (21.65) also led the way for the Renegades. Quarterback Lamar Jackson (17.08) and running back Kareem Hunt (17.6) were instrumental as well. Receiver Cooper Kupp led the Squirrels in scoring in the loss with 31.2 points. Running back James Conner tallied 28.5 points and receiver Adam Thielen finished with 14.25. Next Week: Russia looks to pull even to .500 when they take on Turkey. Switzerland faces another tough North Division battle against Ukraine.

Hopkins Strikes Back: Kamikazes receiver helps take down the Wookiees

Nagasaki Kamikazes 177.9, Wake Island Wookiees 139.08 — Receiver DeAndre Hopkins, traded by the Wookiees to Nagasaki, came back to make them pay with a 30.7 point performance in the Kamikazes’ division victory. Running back James Robinson led the way with 33.1 points. Quarterback Kyler Murray finished with 24.65 points while tight ends Travis Kelce (18.95) and Robert Tonyan (19.25) had big games as well. The wounded Wookiees lost receiver John Brown, whom they acquired in the deal for Hopkins. Running back Mike Davis scored 25.7 points in the loss, while receiver Randall Cobb added 22.5 and the New England Patriots defense finished with 18.05. Next Week: Nagasaki goes toe to toe with San Juan in what could be a high-scoring affair. Wake Island tries to rebound when they take on Christmas Island.
