The 2019 MFFL season is in the books following the Crabs’ upset victory over the Grainers in the Super Bowl. And in the third place game, the Renegades outlasted the Kamikazes to score the victory.

The gift that keeps on giving: Christmas Island celebrates first Super Bowl title

Christmas Island Crabs 159.33, Ukraine Grainers 148.83 — The crabs are partying on Christmas Island as their beloved upset the league’s top scoring team, Ukraine, to win the 2019 MFFL championship. Wide receiver Michael Thomas (31.6) and rookie running back Miles Sanders (30.6) led the way for the Crabs. Tight end Dallas Goedert scored 27.1 and receiver Kenny Golladay put up 18.6 against his former team. For the Grainers, running back Christian McCaffrey piled up 34.9 points in the loss. Tight end George Kittle tallied 21.4 and running back Todd Gurley finished with 19.8.

Kamikazes break down, make emergency landing

Russia Renegades 171.68, Nagasaki Kamikazes 151.98 — Nagasaki had a Red Cross tent set up on the sideline as nearly half their team left the game early due to injury in their loss to Russia in the third-place game. Wide receiver Tyler Boyd led the Renegades with 33.8 points. Quarterback Lamar Jackson finished with 32.63 points. Running backs Melvin Gordon (24.5) and DeAndre Washington (23.2) were key contributors as well. Running back Aaron Jones scored 31.6 points in the loss. Tight end Travis Kelce totaled 23.9 points and wide receiver Davante Adams finished with 21.6.
