And then there was one! The MFFL regular season is down to one final week. The Northwest Conference playoff invites have all been handed out as Russia becomes the final participant. The Southeast Conference has one final spot remaining as Egypt and Turkey battle not just for the playoffs but the South Division crown. The Pharaohs have the leg up after a victory this week over the Jerky. Meanwhile, three Week 12 games were blowouts due to tanking.

Pharaohs flip the bird: Egypt leapfrogs Turkey to take lead in South Division

Egypt Pharaohs 121.75, Turkey Jerky 105.92 — Egypt knocked off division rival Turkey to secure the lead in the South Division. Running Back Ronald Jones tallied 18.1 points to lead the way. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett scored 17.1 points and wide receivers DeVante Parker (15.1) and Dede Westbrooke (14.9) were also key to the victory. Running Back Derrick Henry tallied 31.3 points for the Jerky in the loss. Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley pitched in with 22.2 points and quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished with 12.37. Next Week: Egypt will try to secure the South Division title and a playoff spot when they battle Wake Island. Turkey will attempt to stay in the playoff running when they accept their victory from the tanking Blitz.

Scorpions crawl closer toward West Division-leading Jerks

San Juan Scorpions 183.87, Jamaica Jerks 119.83 — Don’t count out the Scorpions from the West Division crown just yet. San Juan knocked off division rival Jamaica in pursuit of that title. Tight End Zach Ertz scored 30.6 points to lead the defending champions to victory. Running backs Nick Chubb (29.6), Jonathan Williams (26.3), and Alvin Kamara (21.4) were key contributors as well. Jamaica scored its lowest point total of the season in the loss. Running Back Leonard Fournette scored 41.7 points to lead the team. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo added 18.43 and wide receiver Julian Edelman finished with 17.3. Next Week: San Juan will attempt to win the division (with a little help from Jamaica) when they take on Ukraine. Jamaica, too, attempts to win the division when they take on Ecuador.

Russia stomps rebellion, secures final Northwest Conference playoff spot

Russia Renegades 164.58, Ecuador Ewoks 138.22 — As the game was virtually tied heading into the fourth quarter, Russia opened the floodgates and secured a playoff spot behind 35.48 points from quarterback Lamar Jackson. Wide Receivers DeAndre Hopkins (27.4) and Allen Robinson (25.1) were key scorers as well. For the Ewoks, wide receiver Jarvis Landry scored 36.8 points in the loss. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky pitched in 24.72 points and running back Ezekiel Elliott tallied 20.8. Next Week: Russia jockeys for playoff positioning when they face Switzerland in a North Division battle. Ecuador tries to play division spoiler for Jamaica when they take on the Jerks.

Tank you very much! Wake Island gets freebie from Nagasaki

Wake Island Wookiees 121.42, Nagasaki Kamikazes 37.65 — Nagasaki laid down for Wake Island and the Wookiees stepped over the wreckage for the victory. Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 25.87 points. Wide Receiver Randall Cobb pitched in with 12.6 points and running back Saquon Barkley finished with 11.4. For the Kamikazes, the Pittsburgh Steelers defense led the way with 17.25 points, accounting for roughly half the team’s scoring. The Panthers Kicker was the only other player to score double figures, as he finished with 10.3. Next Week: Wake Island battles Egypt in the Southeast Conference playoff chase. Nagasaki will take on Christmas Island with the intention of altering the Southeast Conference playoff seeding.

Grainers keep raining points, drown Squirrels

Ukraine Grainers 185.88, Switzerland Squirrels 95.08 — The Grainers kept chugging away toward the points championship as they beat up the feeble Squirrels in North Division action. Running Back Christian McCaffrey scored 38.7 points while wide receiver Chris Godwin tallied 37.4. Quarterback Deshaun Watson finished with 21.28 points and wide receiver Odell Beckham added 20.4. Quarterback Jameis Winston tallied 26.33 points for the Squirrels in the loss. Wide Receiver James Washington added 18.8 points and tight end Mike Gesicki finished with 12.8. Next Week: Ukraine will battle San Juan with the potential of altering the Northwest Conference playoff seeding. Switzerland will try to play spoiler when they take on division rival Russia.

Crabs take freebie, keep pursuit of second seed

Christmas Island Crabs 137.62, Bangkok Blitz 30.25 — Christmas Island unwrapped their gift victory in convincing fashion. Wide Receivers D.J. Moore (31.6) and Michael Thomas (26.1) led the way for the Crabs. Running back Miles Sanders pitched in with 14. For the Blitz, the Dallas Cowboys defense scored 13.05 points. Running back Jalen Richard finished with 11.5. Kudos to quarterback Case Keenum for running one play, taking a knee — and scoring 0.1 points for the effort. Good job, Case! Next Week: Christmas Island attempts to improve its playoff seed when they take on East division rival Nagasaki. Bangkok aims for the first overall pick when they lay down for Turkey.
