The Wookiees and Ewoks survived near tank scares. The Renegades topped 200 points in a Northwest Conference battle. And the Crabs and Kamikazes stayed hot in the East Division. RB Christian McCaffrey remained red hot, tallying 42.4 points. Grainers stifle Jerks’ ground game, flaunt their own Ukraine Grainers 191.75, Jamaica Jerks 132.42 — In a battle between the league’s top scoring teams, who also boasted the best records, the Ukraine Grainers bested the Jamaica Jerks and did it in convincing fashion. The loss ended a 6-game win streak for the Jerks and extended Ukraine’s win streak to five (and if not for a 1.35-point loss to Ecuador in Week 4, the Grainers would still be unbeaten). Christian McCaffrey remained the hottest commodity in the league by racking up 42.4 points. Receiver Tyreek Hill scored 26.7, David Montgomery tallied 25.4 and quarterback Deshaun Watson finished with 23.3. For the Jerks, the normally-reliable Dalvin Cook (19.8) and Leonard Fournette (14.4) failed to crack the 20-point mark. New acquisitions Carson Wentz (19.77) and Jordan Howard (19.1) were key contributors in the loss. Next Week: Ukraine faces its third-straight tough challenge when they take on Christmas Island. Backfield propels Renegades to big victory over Scorpions Russia Renegades 200.58, San Juan Scorpions 154.43 — Russia’s backfield led by MVP candidate Lamar Jackson (33.98) helped vault the Renegades into a big victory over San Juan. Running backs Melvin Gordon (29.9) and Josh Jacobs (29.9) were big contributors as well. New Renegade DeAndre Hopkins tallied 19.6 points, receiver Courtland Sutton finished with 17.5 and tight end Hunter Henry added 17.9. Tight end Zach Ertz scored 29.3 big points for the Scorpions in the loss. Rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf scored 27.2, quarterback Josh Allen tallied 20.63, and running back Nick Chubb finished with 17.1. Next Week: Russia faces another stiff challenge when they take on Nagasaki. San Juan will try to rebound when they take on Turkey. WR Tyler Lockett notched 40.2 points for the Crabs. Red-hot Crabs cook the Jerky Christmas Island Crabs 196.1, Turkey Jerky 183.7 — Christmas Island, one of the MFFL’s hottest teams, jumped out to a big lead and coasted to victory over Southeast Conference foe, Turkey. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett (40.2) and quarterback Russell Wilson (39.15) were huge contributors in the victory. Receivers Kenny Golladay (23.2) and Jamison Crowder (22.3) scored big as well. For the Jerky, receivers Mike Evans (36) and Marvin Jones (26.6) led the way in the loss. Running back Derrick Henry finished with 27.5 points and quarterback Tom Brady added 19. Next Week: Christmas Island looks to stay on fire when they take on the league’s top dog, Ukraine. Turkey will try to rebound when they face San Juan. RB Kenyan Drake tallied 31.2 points for Wake Island. Sans quarterback, Wookies struggle to accept gift from Blitz Wake Island Wookiees 97.3, Bangkok Blitz 75.3 — With no quarterback in the lineup, Wake Island just managed to slip past the tanking Blitz behind 31.2 points from running back Kenyan Drake. If not for Drake’s performance, the Wookiees might have spoiled the winless season for Bangkok. Aside from Drake, the New England Patriots defense was the only other player to score in double figures as they finished with 11.4. The Dallas Cowboys defense (26.95) and quarterback Baker Mayfield (21.65) were the big scorers for the Blitz in the loss. Running back Jalen Richard tacked on 10.2 points. Next Week: Wake Island tries to stay alive in the playoff chase when they face Switzerland. Bangkok will look to make it 10 losses in a row when they face the angry Jerks of Jamaica. RB Ezekiel Elliott scored 18.5 points in Ecuador’s victory. Ewoks chase down, pass the Squirrels late Ecuador Ewoks 113.25, Switzerland Squirrels 85.47 — It took 31 fourth-quarter points for the Ewoks to slip past the tanking Squirrels and pick up a much-needed victory. Running back Ezekiel Elliott scored 18.5 points to lead the Ewoks’ comeback. Receivers Jarvis Landry (17.1) and Curtis Samuel (16.6) were key contributors as well. Quarterback Jameis Winston scored 22.62 points to lead the Squirrels in the loss. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins tallied 13.3 points and running back Ryquell Armstead finished with 11.5. Next Week: Ecuador will try to keep pace in the Northwest Conference when they battle the Pharaohs. Switzerland will try to pick up another tank win when they face Wake Island. RB Le’Veon Bell finished with 23.5 points for the Kamikazes in their win. Kamikazes go scorched earth in the desert Nagasaki Kamikazes 141.05, Egypt Pharaohs 83.77 — Nagasaki took down the Pharaohs with defense and a strong ground game. Running backs Le’Veon Bell (23.5), Jaylen Samuels (19.9), and Chris Carson (15.5) powered the Kamikazes in the victory. Tight end Travis Kelce pitched in with 15.2 points. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense led the team with 28.8 points. Running back Phillip Lindsay led the Pharaohs with 17 points in the loss. Devante Parker tallied 15.7 points and tight end Jack Doyle added 11.7. Next Week: Nagasaki will take on Russia in a big interconference matchup.
