Tuesday Evening Kicker: 2017 Week 4 Recap October 3, 2017 Turkey Jerky, the final unbeaten team of the 2017 MFFL season, was taken down. Two franchises, the Wookiees and Jerks, remain winless. The Ewoks more than doubled the output of the Pharaohs. And three clubs put up more than 160 points. This and more in our Week 4 recap. Wide receiver Michael Thomas scored 22.9 points to lead the Renegades. Renegades extinguish the Velociraptors Russia Renegades 134.52, Vietnam Velociraptors 115.18 — Russia received a balanced effort from its starting lineup in its non-divisional victory over Vietnam. Wide receiver Michael Thomas led the way with 22.9 points for the Renegades. Running backs Kareem Hunt (20.3) and LeSean McCoy (17.8) followed up with big games. Quarterback Carson Wentz (17.92) and wide receiver Stefon Diggs (14.8) also contributed to the victory. For the Velociraptors, Russell Wilson exploded with 30.68 points. The Arizona Cardinals defense followed suit with 20.7 points. Tight end Charles Clay (16.2) and kicker Phil Dawson (15.4) also had solid outings. Next week, Russia battles the winless Jerks and Vietnam takes on the red-hot Blitz. Running back Ezekiel Elliott notched 34.1 points in Ecuador’s victory. Storm the Pyramids: Ewoks run circles around Pharaohs Ecuador Ewoks 154.27, Egypt Pharaohs 71.57 — Ecuador scored so many points in their victory over the Pharaohs that had they left half the points on the field, they still would have come away with a victory. In fact, the Ewoks’ bench outscored its starters and had the Ewoks played the perfect lineup, they would have finished with 212.08 points. Running back Ezekiel Elliott led all scorers with 34.1 points. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense were close behind with 33.6 points. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (22.57) and running back Duke Johnson (21.9) helped run the tally up as well. The Pharaohs had a rough outing as only quarterback Derek Carr (10.27) — who left the game early with an injury — and the Oakland Raiders defense (23.6) managed to score in double figures. In Week 5, Ecuador will try to keep rolling when they face the Grainers. Egypt will try to stop their slide against the winless Wookiees. Running back Todd Gurley exploded for 39.1 points for the Blitz. Blitz pick up victory over previously unbeaten Jerky Bangkok Blitz 164.20, Turkey Jerky 123.63 — The Blitz scored a barrage of points from its superstars to help bring down the previously winless Jerky. Running back Todd Gurley scored 39.1 points to lead the field. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins added 26.8, wide receiver Jordy Nelson finished with 23.5 and quarterback Marcus Mariota notched 18.4. Quarterback Tom Brady once again led the Jerky with 24.63 points. Tight end Travis Kelce (24.6), running back Devonta Freeman (19.4), the Baltimore Ravens defense (15.2) and wide receiver Randall Cobb (14.4) all turned in strong performances in the loss. The Blitz will take on Vietnam in Week 5 with the Jerky looking to right the ship against Nagasaki. The Minnesota Vikings defense led the way for the Scorpions. San Juan storm clouds hovering over winless Jamaica San Juan Scorpions 122.77, Jamaica Jerks 91.92 — San Juan gained the upper hand against the defending champion Jerks with an important division victory. The Minnesota Vikings defense scored 28.7 points to lead the Scorpions. Wide receivers A.J. Green (17.3), DeVante Parker (12.9) and Alshon Jeffery (11.9) added strong outings. Tight end Zach Ertz notched 13.1 points as well. Quarterback Alex Smith had a huge performance in the loss, scoring 32.52 points — more than a third of Jamaica’s total points. Tight end Rob Gronkowski added 12 points and wide receiver Brandin Cooks finished with 7.4. San Juan will face the Greenland Monsters next week while Jamaica looks to earn its first victory when they take on Russia. Quarterback Cam Newton scored 36.03 points to lead Ukraine. Grainers gainers of big North Division win Ukraine Grainers 166.13, Greenland Monsters 121.67 — A season-ending injury to rookie running back Dalvin Cook put a damper on a huge division victory for the Grainers. Cook scored 14.1 points before suffering a torn ACL. Quarterback Cam Newton scored 36.03 points to lead the way for Ukraine. The Detroit Lions defense (28.8), wide receivers Keenan Allen (18.8), Mike Evans (17.7) and Odell Beckham (16) all contributed to the victory. Rookie running back Leonard Fournette scored 29.3 points to lead Monsters in scoring. The Jacksonville Jaguars defense (28.5) followed suit, wide receiver Dez Bryant added 14.8 and quarterback Matt Ryan finished with 12.07. Ukraine faces the resurgent Ewoks in Week 5 with Greenland taking on San Juan. Running back Le’Veon Bell busted out for 41.6 points for Nagasaki. Kamikazes strike down the Wookiees Nagasaki Kamikazes 169.88, Wake Island Wookiees 111.12 — A roster shakeup for Nagasaki was just what the doctor ordered. After a slow start to the season, the Kamikazes made a pair of trades last week which propelled them to the highest point total of the week. Running back Le’Veon Bell, acquired from the Grainers in one of those two deals, led the way with 41.6 points. The Seattle Seahawks defense added 38.3 big points, quarterback Drew Brees finished with 23.28 and running back Carlos Hyde notched 17.7. For the winless Wookiees, running back Tevin Coleman scored 20.2 points. Tight end Cameron Brate finished with 18, the Kansas City Chiefs defense added 17.7 and quarterback Blake Bortles tallied 15.12. Nagasaki has a tough battle with the Jerky upcoming while the Wookiees face the struggling Pharaohs.
